About BookTwin

Hi, I'm Alek Asaduryan, the creator of BookTwin. I built it because I kept hitting the same wall as a reader: genre-based "if you liked X" lists rarely capture what actually made a book stick with us. A slow, atmospheric mystery and a fast-paced thriller can both be shelved under "Mystery," but they read nothing alike. I wanted recommendations that matched mood, pacing, themes, and emotional payoff — not just a category label.

In my own years of reading and testing recommendation tools, I found most either relied on shallow keyword matching or buried the one good suggestion in a list of ten generic ones. So I built BookTwin to do the opposite: tell it one to five books you loved, and it reasons about why those books worked for you before suggesting what to read next.
